At courts of the borough of Arundel held in 1387 and 1388 Spicer was accused of a transgression against Agatha Lower, fined 2d. for making a false claim against John Cosham, and sued by John Patching for debt. He served as a member of the jury which at Arundel in October 1397 was required to provide information about the forfeited possessions of Richard, late earl of Arundel, recently condemned to death for treason. He himself was a tenant of the earl’s in a garden in the town, for which he paid an annual rent of 7d.
