Richard’s surname was derived from a hamlet by the river Boy on Dartmoor. In February 1407 he and his wife granted a lease of a messuage and farmland in ‘Bovyngton’ for 34s.4d. annual rent, making sure that the interests of their heirs were protected.CP25(1)45/73/88. Hurston is not recorded after his elections by both Ashburton and Plympton to the Parliament which assembled at Gloucester eight months later.
