St. Aubyn inherited from his mother the manor of Stoke Damerel, a highly valuable property, including the whole of modern Devonport, Morice Town and Plymouth docks.Parochial Hist. Cornw. i. 268. Though under age he was returned at Launceston as a Tory in 1747 on the interest of his uncle, Sir William Morice, but was not put up in 1754 by his Whig cousin Humphry Morice. Under George III he represented the county as a Tory, voting with the Opposition.

He died 12 Oct. 1772.
