STRANGWAYS, John (?1688-1716), of Dewlish, Dorset.

While at Oxford in 1708, John Strangways accidentally shot and killed a friend with whom he was out shooting.Luttrell, vi. 309. Returned on his brother’s interest in 1715 as a Tory for Bridport, he was unseated three months later and died 5 May 1716.
