Trevor belonged to a Denbighshire family, who acquired Glynde by marriage in 1679. After sitting as a Whig for Sussex he was brought in for Lewes with the support of the future Duke of Newcastle, whose first cousin he had married. His only recorded vote after 1715 was against the septennial bill in 1716, but in a list drawn up after his death in 1719 he is classed among Newcastle’s parliamentary followers. He was buried 12 Apr. 1719.
