WARD, William (1670-1720), of Sedgley Park, Staffs.

Ward, whose father-in-law, John Grey, had represented Staffordshire from 1689 until 1698, was returned unopposed in 1715. Though classed as a Whig, he appears to have been a moderate Tory, who consistently voted against the Government till his death, 25 Oct. 1720.
