The son of a wealthy London clothier,PCC 147 Shaller. Webster purchased the estate of Copped Hall for over £20,000 from Charles Sackville, 6th Earl of Dorset, in 1700; Battle Abbey from Anthony Browne, 6th Viscount Montagu, in 1721;T. Wright, Hist. Essex, ii. 460-1; VCH Suss. ix. 106. and property including several burgages at East Grinstead.W.H. Hills, Hist. East Grinstead, 50. Returned as a Whig for Colchester in 1722, he did not stand again, dying 30 May 1751.
