Firebrace was returned unopposed in 1754, and was classed by Dupplin as a Tory. Although no speech by him is recorded after 1754—only an intention in May 1755 to move an address against the King’s journey to Hanover, ‘prevented by a sudden adjournment’,H. Walpole to R. Bentley, 6 May 1755. he is included in Newcastle’s list of ‘speakers and efficient men’ (30 May 1757), and is placed in Pitt’s group.Add. 32997, ff. 203-4. He died 28 Mar. 1759.
