But this account, while identifying the Suss. coroner with the MP for Chichester, states that he was the John, s. of Geoffrey atte Mille, who had held the manor of Greatham (six miles north of Arundel) since 1366, but there is no evidence that he was the father of Robert atte Mille*, sheriff of Surr. and Suss. in 1389–90 (see ibid. xvii. 110).
