Frederick Robinson sat for Ripon on the Aislabie interest: his father and William Aislabie were cousins, and the two families were near neighbours. He supported North’s Administration to the end; but voted for Shelburne’s peace preliminaries, 18 Feb. 1783; and was classed by John Robinson as a follower of Lord Hardwicke, presumably because his brother had married Hardwicke’s daughter. He voted against Fox’s East India bill, 27 Nov. 1783, and supported Pitt. There is no record of his having spoken in the House. In July 1787 a pension of £900 p.a. for life, granted to him by the Crown, vacated his seat.

He died 28 Dec. 1792.
