If the identification of this Member is correct, he was a younger relative of Henry Golding I, whose half-sister Margery married first the 16th Earl of Oxford, and secondly Charles Tyrrell, a gentleman pensioner whose mother was a daughter of an earlier Lord Mountjoy.
Golding’s father may have assigned him property in Suffolk, but the only reference found to him in the county records is in 1573, when George and Henry Golding were called upon to show by what title they held the rectory of Poslingford.
