BEAUCLERK, Lord William (1698-1733).

Lord William Beauclerk was brought in for Chichester by his cousin and brother officer, the 2nd Duke of Richmond, for whose own election there, as Earl of March, he had campaigned in 1722, when he was ‘forced to drink strong beer and smoke with all the voters twice a week’.Earl of March, A Duke and his Friends, i. 56, 63. He supported the Administration till his death, 23 Feb. 1733.
