biography text
Corrance was descended from a London merchant tailor, whose son bought Parham Hall, some 10 miles from Orford, about 1690. He himself bought the estate of Rougham from his father-in-law. A Tory, he voted against the Government in every recorded division after George I’s accession. His name was sent to the Pretender in 1721 as a probable supporter in the event of a rising.
He was buried 30 Mar. 1724.
