COWARD, William (1666-1716), of Wells, Som.

Coward’s father, a successful lawyer, owned estates in and about Wells, which he represented 1679-81 and 1695-1705. Returned for Wells as a Whig under Anne, Coward was defeated in 1715 but seated on petition. He died in June 1716.
