Curzon was returned as a Tory for Clitheroe on his family’s interest in 1748 as soon as he had come of age. The 2nd Lord Egmont wrote of him in his electoral survey, c.1749-50:

There is, I believe, neither good nor harm in this boy. I should think if hereafter a peerage should be shewn in prospect to his family which is ancient and rich and not at all improper for it they might be thoroughly gained, and it would be a great acquisition in a bad part of England.

Ennobled by Bute, he died 5 Dec. 1804.
