Fisher was put up for Grantham in 1722 by Lord Cardigan, the head of the local Tories. He is described as
a gentleman of a small estate and encumbered, hardly qualified in case his debts [were] paid, but [Lord Cardigan] is to bear the expense.
Returned head of the poll, he did not stand in 1727, when he gave his interest to Sir Michael Newton.
