Nathaniel Gould was returned at a by-election for Wareham where he was a stranger, consistently supporting the Administration. He was a member of Samuel Holden’s dissenting deputies committee and one of the sub-committee of that body who approached Walpole in November 1732 and December 1734 to discuss the repeal of the Test and Corporation Acts.
