Lloyd, christened John, took the name of Salusbury on his marriage, when he acquired an estate carrying a considerable interest in Flint. Having rented another estate in the neighbourhood, he stood for the Boroughs with government support in 1727. Though his opponent secured a large majority, there was a double return, the head bailiff being Lloyd’s tenant and threatened with eviction if he did not return his landlord.
