MINSHULL, Edward (b. ?1685), of Stoke, Cheshire.

Minshull belonged to a branch of one of the most ancient Cheshire families. Defeated at Bramber in 1715 by a Tory but returned on petition by the Whig majority of the House of Commons, he voted with the Government in all recorded divisions. His only reported speech was a ‘very slender’ defence of John Aislabie, 8 Mar. 1721.Coxe, Walpole, ii. 210. Convicted next February of cheating a banker of bank bills to the value of £350,Hist. Reg. 1722, chron. p. 14. he did not stand again. The date of his death is unknown.
