After the death of John Knight, M.P. for Sudbury, in October 1733, Price, described as ‘a rich citizen’ unsuccessfully asked Walpole to support his candidature for the vacancy, stating that one of the leading men in Sudbury ‘was his factor, did all his business for him, and had promised him to use all his interest for him in the next election’.
