Pringle, whose father bought Haining for him in 1701, was re-elected in 1715 for Selkirkshire on the interest of his brother-in-law, John Murray, its hereditary sheriff. Absent from the division on the septennial bill in 1716, he voted with the Administration in all other recorded divisions, including that on Lord Cadogan, 4 June 1717.
He died 19 Aug. 1754.
