Slingsby, whose parliamentary career lay mainly in the Stuart period, succeeded to the family influence at Knaresborough, and repeatedly had himself returned there. He died 17 Dec. 1634 at Nun Monckton, Yorkshire, and was buried on the 28th in the family chapel in Knaresborough church.Calvert, Hist.
