This Member has not been identified. He may have been a member of the Prentice family of Wiggenhall, Norfolk, a minor county family, connected by marriage to the Lestranges of Hunstanton, Norfolk, who were, in turn, related to Edward Grey of Howick, constable of Morpeth castle and a servant of Lord William Howard, who claimed the barony of Morpeth as part of his wife’s share of the disputed Dacre inheritance. There were two Robert Prentices of Wiggenhall: a youger son of William Prentice (still a minor in 1562) and his brother William’s eldest son. It was probably the latter who married a grand-daughter of Sir John Oliff and later moved to Barling, Essex.
