Sheriff, Cambs. and Hunts. 1 Nov. 1383–11 Nov. 1384,Philip Tilney’s name is given on the fine rolls, but that of his brother, Frederick, on the precepta roll (PRO List ‘Sheriffs’, 13). His personal connexion with Cambs. was, however, far stronger, and it was almost certainly he who held office. Lincs. 18 Nov. 1386–7.
