He is not to be confused with the London fletcher of the same name, who was almost his exact contemporary (Cal. P. and M. London, 1364-81, p. 218; CCR, 1389-92, p. 361; 1396-9, p. 427), for although he owned property in the City he is always described as ‘of Middlesex’ or ‘of Hackney’.
