RUTHERFORD, James (d.1747), of Bowland, Midlothian.

John Rutherford, whose father bought Bowland in 1697, succeeded his cousin, John Pringle, as Member for Selkirkshire in 1730, voting consistently with the Administration. He did not stand in 1741, dying in August 1747.
