He has been distinguished from John Haute (d.c.1431), of Pluckley, Kent, esquire, the s. of James Haute and close kinsman and associate of Sir Nicholas* and William Haute*. This John Haute’s first marriage, c.1397, to Joan, da. and h. of John Surrenden, made him a man of considerable means, and his lands in Kent were assessed in 1412 at pound;31 10s. a year. Harl.
