On 14 Apr. 1401, as a ‘King’s esquire’, Monyn was granted an annuity for life of £20 from the farm of certain property in Ireland belonging to the Knights Hospitallers. He evidently encountered difficulty in securing payment and apparently visited the province, for in July 1402 he obtained letters of attorney there as being about to return to England. He resigned the annuity in January 1406 in favour of Edward Perrers and his wife, and is not recorded in royal service subsequently.
