At the autumn elections of 1388, to the Cambridge Parliament which followed his own return, Mede found mainprise for William Bristowe. Chosen as bailiff of Portsmouth soon afterwards, in December he was instructed by the Chancery to confiscate 15 ‘hakeneies’ belonging to the brother of King João I of Portugal. Nothing more is known of him for certain.
