Hale was brought in for Mitchell in 1779 probably by arrangement between his uncle Richard Rigby, the Treasury, and Lord Falmouth. He followed Rigby’s line in politics, supporting North’s ministry till March 1782, and voting on 18 Feb. 1783 for Shelburne’s peace preliminaries, but after April 1783 supporting the Coalition. He accordingly lost his seat in 1784. No speech by him is reported.
He died 17 Aug. 1827.
