Captain Morgan was brought in by his father on the family interest for Brecon in 1818, in place of his elder brother Charles, who was contesting the county. The latter was defeated, but George did not make way for him until 1830. Like his father and brother, Morgan supported government, voting against Tierney’s censure motion, 18 May 1819, and for the foreign enlistment bill, 10 June. Only one speech of his is known before 1820, against the equalization of the coal duties, 2 Mar. 1819. His politics remained Tory, anti-Catholic and anti-reform. He died 25 Aug. 1845.
