b. 16 Apr. 1757, 2nd s. of Richard, 4th Earl of Scarbrough, by Barbara, da. of Sir George Savile, 7th Bt.; bro. of George Augusta Lumley Saunderson, Visct. Lumley. educ. Eton 1770-3. m. 14 June 1787, Hon. Henrietta Willoughby, da. of Henry, 5th Baron Middleton, s.p. suc. to estates of his uncle, Sir George Savile 10 Jan. 1784, and assumed add. name of Savile; and bro. as 6th Earl of Scarbrough 5 Sept. 1807 when under his uncle’s will he forfeited the Savile estates, and acquired those of the Saunderson family: he then assumed name of Saunderson in lieu of Savile.
