Parker was defeated in 1761 at Guildford; in 1768 he stood for Yarmouth on the Holmes-Stanley interest and was returned on petition. In 1774 he stood for Tregony as a Government candidate.

He voted consistently with the Government, but was not a very good attender—probably because of his military duties; and seems never to have spoken in the House.

He died 6 Sept. 1791.
