A’COURT, William (c.1708-81), of Heytesbury, Wilts.

William A’Court, who had served in Flanders during the war of the Austrian succession, claimed that during the rebellion of 1745 he raised a force of 95 men at his own expense.A’Court to Newcastle, 18 July 1754, Add. 32736, f. 55. Brought in by his brother at Heytesbury in 1751, he was classed as a government supporter in 1754. With his brother he went into opposition under George III. He died 2 Aug. 1781.
