Cadogan was returned on the interest of his father-in-law, Lord Montfort, for Cambridge, which he represented, with one brief interval, when he made way for his brother-in-law, till he succeeded to the peerage. He consistently supported the Governments of the day, except during the first Rockingham Administration. He died 3 Apr. 1807.
