Returned on the government interest, Cholmondeley steadily supported Walpole, whose daughter his elder brother had married, speaking in 1741 against the motion to remove him from office, and in 1742 against Lord Limerick’s motion for an inquiry into his administration. After Walpole’s fall, he continued to support the Administration, speaking for the Hanoverians, 6 Dec. 1743.
