Eyton, the head of a prominent Flintshire family, was a fellow member with Sir Watkin Williams Wynn of the Jacobite Cycle of the White Rose. His name was sent to the Pretender in 1721 as a probable supporter in the event of a rising.NLW, 14941 C; Flints. Hist. Soc. Publ. ix. 15; Stuart mss 65/16. Returned for Flint without opposition at a by-election on the death of Sir John Conway in 1721, he was re-elected after a contest in 1722. He did not stand again, but continued to support Wynn’s political activities in North Wales. He died in 1757.
