FULLER, John (?1679-1744), of Great Yarmouth, Norf.

John Fuller, of a Yarmouth family, whose father had represented the borough in four Parliaments under William III, resigned his post at Leghorn in 1722Pol. State, xxiv. 499 and returned to England after his father’s death. Having unsuccessfully challenged the Townshend-Walpole interest at Yarmouth in the general election of 1727, he was apparently bought off with a government seat at Plympton six months later, but voted against the Administration in all recorded divisions. He did not stand again, dying 22 Mar. 1744. His nephew, Richard Fuller, contested Yarmouth without success in 1741, 1754, and 1756.
