HAYES, James (1715-1800), of Hollyport, Berks.

James Hayes, whose father and grandfather had also been barristers of the Middle Temple, was the ‘worthy friend and fellow collegiate’PCC 154 Busby. of George Proctor, M.P. for Downton, who died in 1751. He was brought in for Downton at a by-election as a supporter of the Administration by Anthony Duncombe, Lord Feversham, who made him an executor of his will and trustee for his children. He died 9 Sept. 1800.
