The son of a London merchant with an estate at Petworth, Peachey sat for the county as a Whig under Queen Anne, losing his seat in 1710. He applied to Newcastle for support as a prospective candidate for Sussex on the elevation of Spencer Compton to the peerage in 1728, but was not adopted.Peachey to Newcastle, 10 Jan. 1728, SP 36/5, ff. 11-12. He stood for Haslemere in 1734, withdrawing before the poll.E. Oglethorpe to Sir. Robt. Walpole, n.d. 1734, Cholmondeley (Houghton) mss. Returned for Midhurst in succession to his brother, Bulstrode Peachey Knight, died soon afterwards, 23 Aug. 1737, aged 66.
