The grandson of Endymion Porter, M.P., one of Charles I’s courtiers, and the son of a royalist officer, who made his peace with Parliament, Aubrey Porter owed his seat to his brother-in-law, Lord Bristol. Re-elected unopposed as a Whig in 1715, he voted for the septennial bill in 1716, dying 25 Apr. 1717.
